1. Who we are

2. What we collect

• When you pay: Stripe gives us the details of the payment. These are your email address, your name if you entered it, the sum, the time, the payment method (for example Alipay), and the country or region. We do not see your Alipay password or full payment details.
• If you give a GitHub user name at checkout (Practice editions of the courses and higher, optional): that user name.
• When you activate a membership: the email address and code you enter, the time, and the edition and end date. Also a GitHub user name if you add one later.
• When you buy the custom service and send us configuration files: those files.
• When you email us: your email address and the content of your message.
• When you visit this website: the site sets no cookies of its own and uses no analytics. Our host, Cloudflare, processes visitor information, for example IP addresses, to operate the site and to prevent attacks.

3. Why

We use your information to complete your purchase, send the files and activation codes, and make refunds. We use it to confirm a membership activation. We send reminders 7 days before the membership ends and on the day it ends. We send new versions of the course. We use the GitHub user name to invite you to the buyer area and to remove the access later. We use the files you send for the custom service.

We use it to answer your emails. We use it to send you a corrected version if we correct an error. We use it for bookkeeping and tax, and to prevent fraud. We do not sell your information, and we do not send marketing emails.

4. Who else processes it

Brevo sends our order, activation and reminder emails, so it processes your email address and the content of these emails. Telegram carries a notice of each new order to us, with your email address, the product and the sum. GitHub sends the buyer area invitations, with its own privacy policy.

For the custom service, we use AI coding tools to help review the files you send, so their providers process those files. If you do not agree, only a person reads them.

Cloudflare also stores the order and membership records. Stripe is the payment processor and has its own privacy policy. If you select Alipay for payment, the payment goes through Alipay, with its own terms. Cloudflare hosts this website and forwards the email sent to our address. Our email provider keeps the correspondence. Government authorities get information when the law makes this necessary.

5. Where

The servers of these services are mainly in the United States. If you are in mainland China, your information goes to servers that are not in China.

6. How long

We keep transaction records for the time that U.S. tax and bookkeeping rules specify, usually not more than 7 years. We keep membership records for a maximum of 2 years after the membership ends. We remove the files you send for the custom service after 90 days. We keep email correspondence for a maximum of 2 years after we close the question.

7. Your rights

You can tell us to show you, correct, or remove the information we have about you. We cannot remove transaction records that we must keep by law, for the time that the law sets. Email us. We reply in a maximum of 15 days.

8. Children

This website is for adults. It is not for persons below 18 years of age.

9. Changes

When this policy changes, we update the date at the top of this page.
